on the equivalence of constructed-response and multiple-choice : stem-equivalent, stem non-equivalent but content equivalent, and stem and content non-equivalent items in reading comprehension using multifaceted rasch
the present study investigated construct equivalence of multiple choice (mc) and constructed response (cr) item types across stem and content equivalent mc and cr items (item type ‘a’), non-stem-equivalent but content equivalent mc and cr items (item type ‘b’), and non-stem and non-content equivalent mc and cr items (item type ‘c’). one hundred seventy english-major undergraduates completed mc ...
Heavy quark potential in the instanton liquid model
We study the heavy quark potential in the instanton liquid model by carefully measuring Wilson loops out to a distance of order 3fm. A random instanton ensemble with a fixed radius ρ = 1/3fm generates a potential V (R) growing very slowly at large R. In contrast, a more realistic size distribution growing as ρ at small ρ and decaying as ρ at large ρ, leads to a potential which grows linearly wi...
متن کاملChiral Symmetry in an Extended Constituent Quark Potential Model
The chiral symmetry is applied to an extended constituent quark potential model. With random phase approximation (RPA), a small component effect is added to the constituent quark model. To obtain the pseudoscalar π meson as a Goldstone boson, the quark effective potentials are modified in the model to account for the dynamical breaking of chiral symmetry. Also the vector ρ meson is calculated a...
متن کاملQuark Fluctuations in a Chiral Model at finite chemical potential
During recent years the phenomenological importance of fluctuations in finite temperature/finite density QCD has been recognized [1]. The analysis of fluctuations is an essential method to characterize the thermodynamic properties of a system. Enhanced fluctuations signal the onset of a phase transition [2]. Thus, measuring modifications in the magnitude of fluctuations in heavy ion collisions ...
متن کاملQuark model description of the NN ∗ ( 1440 ) potential
We derive a NN * (1440) potential from a non-relativistic quark-quark interaction and a chiral quark cluster model for the baryons. By making use of the Born-Oppenheimer approximation we examine the most important features of this interaction in comparison to those obtained from meson-exchange models.
